Values

Honesty

We tell the truth to the best of our knowledge. We tell what we know and more importantly what we don’t know.

'I think one thing that really that is always important for us is this intellectual honesty, basically knowing what we really don’t know. What we do know and what we don’t. In other words, if we claim a circle of confidence, we have to understand the edge of the competence. You have to know what falls in and what falls out. You have to be very honest with yourself. So we really insist on knowing inside and out a particular businesses, to the point we’re able to predict it’s outcome, for example, in the next 10 years. At least I want to know, at worst case scenario, what the business would look like 10 years from now. And so we do have a long-term horizon in terms. We can’t really predict it forever, but I want to see whether I can predict with a very high degree of confidence, 90% of confidence, that at a minimum what the business will look like in 10 years under all different contingencies.'

- Li Lu

Accountability

We work hard to keep our promises so that our investors, co-workers, investee companies and business partners can depend on us.

“it takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to lose it."

- Warren Buffett

Integrity

We keep the highest standards of business ethics and professionalism.

"If all these crooks and promoters knew how much money there was in being honest, there’d be more people who did it."

- Charlie Munger

Humility

We keep our humility by treating day and night just the same.

"If you can keep your head when all about you

    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,

If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,

    But make allowance for their doubting too;

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,

    Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,

Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,

    And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;

    If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;

If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster

    And treat those two impostors just the same;"

- Rudyard Kipling

We help others to the best of our abilities

Kindness

"Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago."

- Warren Buffett
